Dark ruby red in colour, with aroma expressing cherries, blueberries, with hints of spearmint and violets whilst the palate presents sweet plums, dark berries, licorice, a hint of dark chocolate and soft oak.  Lovely tannins reveal a wine that still has its best in front of it. Indigenous to Umbria in Central Italy perched between Rome and Florence and as such suggests pairing with rare steak and lamb as well as sweet tarts and chocolate.
